I love the Puckboys series so much. Like the others in the series, I love the relationships between all the guys in the Queer Collective, how supportive they are of each other, and the discussions around public queer representation.
Here are some specific things I loved about this installment:
Here are some specific things I loved about this installment:
- This book very much explores the idea that love knows no labels -- that love between two people can be deep and meaningful and, in many ways, romantic before the relationship actually becomes romantic and/or sexual. I loved that the transition to boyfriends/husbands isn't actually what marked the beginning of them being partners -- that happened years ago, when they were friends. It really felt like the addition of romance and sex to their relationship was just one more way for them to be close, rather than a fundamental shift in their dynamic.
- I loved Tripp helping Dex through being an out NHL player & making active efforts to show him the good parts of being out & helping Dex understand himself better
- LOL at Dex simply NOT understanding where platonic boundaries lie for most people & not realizing that his relationship with Tripp is very much not platonic
