Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake
3.0
"Your future self will always see what your present self is blind to. This is the problem with mortality, which is in fact a problem of time."
This both scratched an itch in my brain left a lingering sense of dissatisfaction. The writing was amazing but omg is it a pret peeve when authors put speech not in speech marks. Especially towards the end when everything was just on big block of words. This made it harder to read. I totally get it was a writing choice but it didn't work for me. The three stars isn't a bad rating. I enjoyed the book just the writing style wasn't for me towards the end so I felt bored and uninterested because of it
That being said I am absolutely fascinated by this book. The first half of this book was utterly beautiful and if I could read it again for the first time I would. I love both characters so much and their journey both as an indiidual and as a couple was complicated and messy - just like they are.
