read the translation by heather lloyd
the descriptions of ennui and pining were relatable, and dredged up memories of being yOuNg and iN LoVe. it put into words the emotions of the time in a strangely accurate way. apart from that though, i didn’t really enjoy being in the narrator’s head.
would call this a short story worth reading for the writing alone.
