I absolutely adore Neva Altaj's books, and Gregory Salinas & Allyson Voller always do an amazing job with the audio. This is the first book in the next-gen series and features the child of the first book's (Painted Scars - Roman x Nina) couple as the FMC and a side character from Darkest Sins (the Sicilian) as the MMC. She hacks into his databases, he kidnaps her in retaliation, and their enemies to lovers, age gap romance takes place with Sicily's coastline as a backdrop.

I read this book first as an eBook and when the audiobook published, I knew I needed to reread. Both experiences were superb, and I would recommend them equally. The narrators do a fantastic job of bringing the characters and emotions to life in the audiobook, and Neva's fantastic writing paints a fantastic picture in the print version.

Read this book if you love:
- Mafia bosses that are secretly very caring and sweet, and also insecure because they're disfigured from excessive scars
- Independent FMCs who want to prove they're more than just a pretty face, and need someone to show them to come out of hiding and be who they are confidently
- Iconic banter
- He loves seeing her in his clothes
- Cameos of past characters, but in a very fulfilling way
