It took me a while to be drawn into this book and to enjoy the story. It was rather confusing at the beginning, with there being a lot of dialogue and character thoughts, but without knowing who was saying/thinking what. I think the narrator was also constantly transitioning between the present and the past which made it difficult to picture what had been happening. I enjoyed the part where we hear things from James' perspective, Andy's perspective around the time of his death, and from Bazza's perspective. It was nice to find out who was leaving all the gifts for Belinda, as well as the random acts of kindness. I'm glad that Evelyn turned out to not be a devil of a supposed to be mother in law, and came to the realisation that she was being unfair to Belinda when blaming her for her son's death. She had always disliked Evelyn even before his death though so it was also kind of annoying that she had only flipped her way of thinking when she found out that Belinda was pregnant with her grandchild/children. It was heartwarming when Belinda's neighbours came together to help her rout with the twins in the middle of the night.
I was half expecting a thriller in this book as I had just finished reading another one of Nicola Moriarty's books which was a really great thriller. The lighthearted/emotional nature of this book was a nice somewhat surprised though. I am glad that I listened to the audiobook until the end rather than giving up on it because I wasn't really catching on at the start. I just needed to know what happened to Andy, really hahaha
