The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson

4.0

I’ve found it difficult to explain my feelings about this novel. Thompson’s first-person narrative draws you in, and as Lou tells you his story, you find yourself simultaneously frustrated, disturbed and fascinated by his decisions and justifications. That being said, I found the narrative fragmented at times, which spoiled the flow of the story, and it meant you sometimes had to work a little too hard to follow the story/Lou’s thought process. Not the easiest read, but an interesting yet unsettling crime novel. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
