I’ve been trying to reconnect to my sense of wonder lately. I had a sense of wonder before the Pandemic, but it’s been hard to access since then. I feel so cynical and jaded now. This is partly good, because I’m seeing things as they are, but I’m trying to find a balance, because there is still so much awe to be found in the world. This book was a beautiful place to start. It has me walking barefoot in the garden everyday and considering the roots beneath my feet. It’s a series of personal nature essays about how to live on our planet during the climate crisis by deepening our connection to the earth. The essays drew me in and spoke to where I’m at right now.
