I liked the fact that we finally got to see Lucas as, like, Lucas. And how he navigates the 80s through a Black lens because we’re told stories by a White perspective and generally it never includes how the Black characters are within this universe. Very well written and thought provoking.

I really enjoyed this book. I would have to reread again to be able to give a review that really hones in on what the book is about and how it surrounds Lucas (which I’m not complaining about). He’s one of my favourite characters and deserves as much recognition as the other white ass characters.
