Honestly my expectations for this book were very off base, there were way too many sex scenes for my taste (and with all the 18th century euphemisms ick), there was a whole bicuriosity thing that felt a little fetishizing of wlw, and the audiobook performance was too boisterous/melodramatic for my taste and the voice for the protagonist especially was so nasally and whiny it turned me off the character who was already tediously naive. I tried to keep going cause I was curious if she’d live or die, but I just couldn’t suspend my disbelief for the plot anymore, it felt like it was under researched for a historical.
