Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
4.0
EDIT: REREAD ON DECEMBER 29, 2024.
Changing my rating to 4 stars because I did not realize how insufferable Vi was throughout half of this book. I get it to an extent, however, she can still not protect her mind and yet wants all these secrets that Dain can take from her? Nah bro, selfish asf. And people say “well I get it, because I would act just like Violet is.” Then you’re selfish asf too, idc. 😂 so yeah, 4 stars, loss of a star because I wanted to punch Violet. Lmao.

🐉fantasy/romantasy
⚡️epic adventure
🐉slow burn

⚡️found family
This book was even better than the first imo, It had more action, more romance, more emotions, more suspense, and more secrets. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire read. I laughed, I cried, I almost threw my book (cat😡). I loved every single word. That cliffhanger though? I am still reeling from it and I hate that we have to wait for the next book now.
My favorite parts:
Andarna & Tairn - I love the dragons and their banter with each other this book was what made me laugh the most. & the secrets reveled near the end about Andarna. *gasps*
Rhi, Sawyer, Ridoc, & Jesinia - Vi’s family as I consider them, their friendships all grew even stronger this book and I absolutely adore all of their dynamics.
Xaden & Vi - *melts*, their romance/love story is literally everything. They are both so stubborn so they both have trouble opening up for a while, but once they do, they are absolutely unstoppable.
Things I didn’t like:
I honestly cannot think of anything I didn’t like. I may find something when I do a re-read and annotate, so this may be changed one day.
My final thoughts: I LOVED this book! Def on my top 10 books I read this year and I will be impatiently waiting for the next book in the series. ❤️
