A solid thriller that starts off with a bang. It follows two crimes, 28 years apart, and their lasting impact. Some might say it tries to cover too much, but I think it just barely toes the line.

The novel weaves together compelling character histories, complex relationship dynamics, buried secrets, and high-stakes action. It keeps you hooked from start to finish, with plenty of twists—some I never saw coming, and one big one I predicted far in advance. That last part is why this is a 4-star read instead of 5.
