Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

By the title, and the blurb, I was a little afraid I might not like the ending to this book/series ... but I did. I was completely happy with the ending of this book (and series).
Now I admit, this entire series is just a fun, fluffy, entertaining read (although I think I did find a quote or two in each book, and they had their action/serious moments).
While I read the Twilight series, I didn't really involve myself in the romance (but I would have been team Jacob if I had). Here, I was pretty solidly team Dimitri. While I grew to like Adrian, he and Rose just never had the same kind of relationship. Being different classes too, they were doomed. Personally, I cannot STAND smoking, and I admit that all of Adrian's smoking/drinking made it hard for me to think of he and Rose getting together (I could just smell the stink on him as I read, it turned me off). Personally I've always been into the more "built" guys, than the slender ones. I guess my personal preferences did come into play as I read.
Looking back on the entire series, I do find it rather funny how the author, using a first person POV was able to get around that to tell multiple stories when Rose wasn't present. By using the bond (looking through Lissa's eyes) and the dreams, we were able to keep involved more than I would have thought with a simple first person POV ... it was a little convienent at times (we almost always knew EVERYTHING important going on).
That being said ... the mystery of Lissa's sibling, and who murdered the queen were actually a surprise to me (as they were to the characters).
I don't know that I'll go immediately to the followup series, but as I did really enjoy these books, I'm sure I'll pick them up at some point in the future and hope to see many of the same characters and continue on with some of their stories ...
