Overview
A reading challenge for Gregory Ashe’s interconnected MM contemporary mysteries—the Hazardverse.
The suggested reading order (below) is from Ashe’s website, where you can also find a chronological reading order, Hazardverse timelines, and information about each series. For this challenge, I’ve focused on the “main series” and included “other” Hazardverse series/books as bonuses. I’ve made the short story collections bonus books, too. The Last Picks series is not included in this challenge because it’s independent from the main series so far, though I may decide to add it in the future.
SUGGESTED READING ORDER TO MAKE THE MOST OUT OF CAMEOS:

- The Borealis Investigations (North & Shaw)
-
A Union of Swords (Hazard & Somerset)
- Bonus book: A Friend in the Fire(read after Transactional Dynamics)
- The Lamb and the Lion (Jem & Tean; placed here for two tiny Easter eggs—otherwise, anytime before Iron on Iron)
-
Borealis: Without a Compass (North & Shaw)
- Bonus book: Luka Meer
- The First Quarto (Theo & Auggie; read anytime before Arrows in the Hand)
- Arrows in the Hand (Hazard & Somerset)
-
Iron on Iron (Hazardverse crossover)
- Bonus books: Hazardverse: Sidetracks
I’ll try to keep this challenge updated as new books are published or changes are made to the suggested reading order on Ashe’s website. Last updated: 01 December 2024 (to add “Sick Day”).
