Overview

A year long challenge created by Qwordy.

Challenge Prompts

41. The Five books with the lowest ratings on your Goodreads/Storygraph/etc (228 added)

By whatever means you track what books you want to read, find the five with the lowest average ratings and read those.

42. An indie book directly purchased from the author (48 added)

Find an indie book but do NOT purchase from amazon. Go to the author's website or socials and purchase the book directly from them. Amazon takes a huge chunk of change from indie authors so when purchasing, this is the best means of supporting an indie author. If that author tells you the only way to purchase is through Amazon, then that is okay but if there are alternative means of purchasing their book that gives them more money from the sale, do so. You may also do this at in-person events like signings/conventions/book fairs.

43. Find a local author sections at an indie bookstore and read one of those books (43 added)

Go to your local indie bookstore or if you don't have one nearby, go to an indie bookstore's website and find a local author section, get one of the books and read!

bonus
44. Spell your name in the books you read (635 added)

Sorry to those with a long name but I too, have a long name, so suck it. Using the Title or Author's names, spell out your own name with each book read. You may double up books for this challenge. (Use the Alphabet challenge for suggestions)

45. 5 Previous SPFBO non-finalist Entries (117 added)

Check out SPFBO (The Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off) Competition here and pick five books that were previous entries but didn't make it to the final and read them! Easy means of this is also checking out my Will it TBR videos for deeper dives into SPFBOX (round 10)

bonus
46. Read a completed Webcomic (82 added)

Webcomics are awesome! Using Webtoons, Tapas, or other webcomic websites, find a COMPLETED webcomic and read the whole thing OR you may read an ongoing comic but must keep up with it throughout the entire year (but I think finding a completed one might be a tad easier, just saying)

47. A New Release Read in the Month it is Released All Year Long: July 2024 (69 added)

For each month from July 2024 to June 2025, you must read a new release of that month in the month of it's release. (i.e. released in August and read in August). You may double up on books for this challenge.
