Overview

inspired by all of the challenges surrounding reading book by queer authors, asian authors, black authors, female authors, and so many more marginalized and intersected communities, i wanted to motivate myself to read more books by indigenous authors, spanning a wide variety of genres.

canada is a wealth of indigenous culture and knowledge but, as the history of the country itself is riddled with the colonization of indigenous territories and cruel treatment of the indigenous population, there's no appreciation for and knowledge taught about that culture in our school systems unless individually saught out. from this challenge, i want to learn more about indigenous life, history, folklore, and more. i hope that, if you're reading this, you're interested in joining me!
