I hated this book. The main character was so unlikeable - I finished it because the plot was great, but the entire book I was screaming at the mother. Holier than thou, whiny, making stupid decisions - I could not deal with her! The kids were great, and most of the other characters, but Miriam made this book nearly unreadable. 

She reminds me of that person that would cut in line at the coffee shop because “she’s a mum”, and who says she’s a “strict mum” but lets her kids rule the roost. I wish I’d liked this book, but would not recommend.
