Pretty good! Likable and flawed main characters, not an LOL rom-com but there were flashes of wit and humor. I loved that counseling played a large part in their relationship growth (even though they went for a work-related, non-romantic reason), very refreshing. Open-door.

A solid start to my 2025 reading list. This was a quick binge listen that was lighthearted and fun. Overall the chemistry was there for the whole book even as they jumped back and forth from HATING each other to eventually falling back in love. I liked the development of the romance and how it happened over the whole year. There was a lot to repair with their relationship that just would have lost me if they tried to fix it right away. The flashbacks were also well used to compare and contrast the characters perspectives.

This book definitely utilizes the misunderstandings, old wounds, and plain old stubbornness tropes a bit but I didn't find it unbearable.  This was very much a cozy and comfortable read with some mature relationship development and character reflections. I also love a good "man is physically attracted to her no matter what" trope and this book provides.

Another solid read from Ava Wilder! They always hit the spot when I’m in the mood for an angsty, emotional read. I love how raw and real her characters feel. At times, they drove me nuts with how petulant they could be but the emotion behind it felt so believable that I kinda got it too.

For as emotional as it was, we still get some great banter and even better spice.
My only complaint was the pacing. I wish there was a little more balance of the hate vs them reconnecting and healing. It felt a little stilted with Lilah admitted her feelings the night of LNL, I didn’t feel like they were fully there yet.

Would have been higher rating but the ending dragged.

I breezed through this book. It was easy and sexy, emotional and funny, but also reflective and heartbreaking. I could relate to Lilah's character and the difficulty she had with opening herself up to love.

Will They or Won't They lived up to its name, taking Lilah and Shane from enemies to lovers to enemies to friends to lovers to enemies to everything in between. It portrayed so accurately the difficulty that so many people face in being able to open themselves up and trust other people. This story was a rollercoaster of emotions. Yes, it was frustrating to read at times because we didn't know if we were coming and going but that is what made it so real.

I enjoyed the characters and the development of the story. However, I didn't love the frequent flashbacks, especially since I felt like they were out of nowhere and kind of just stuck in a random place in the book. Overall, I'd recommend for a slow-burn second-chance romance.

Enjoyable read! I felt it lagged a bit in the back third of the book, with some areas of the conflict being drawn out too long, and the ending feeling like it wrapped itself up too quickly. The writing itself is gray and the dialogue was especially fun.

i absolutely love a breakup/makeup story so this was super up my alley. the intimacy between the two felt real and intense, and it felt worth it when it was resolved. overall i did feel like the pacing could have been drawn out a little more, as i felt like it lost a bit of steam in the end, but i think it's genre-typical. i did also get the feeling like there were some missing scenes (like being shown the rehearsal of a pivotal TV scene, but only told about the actual shooting of it), but nothing that took me out of the story too much. i really appreciated getting to know supporting characters more, like the cast of the TV show and shane's family. a cute HEA which I like, so altogether a nice read!
