You know it is a good book when you find yourself feeling the same angst as the main characters; laughing when they laugh and crying when they cry. This isn't a feel good book and yet it is. Life is complicated but it is worth all the complications.

4.5 ⭐️. I absolutely loved this book and it wasn’t a surprise seeing as Colleen hoover is looking to be my favourite author. The way she writes and the messages she involves into her book is powerful. I loved seeing the relationship revolve between the mother and the daughter and their partners. I loved that we followed the story of not one heroine but two. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because Clara annoyed me at some points. But other than that I loved it!

The story centers on Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara. Hoover’s characters become real to the reader and you’ll connect emotionally and think about them long after you’ve finished their story.

We briefly learn about Morgan as a teen. Meet her friends, then boyfriend, now husband and sister before fast-forwarding to present day and Morgan’s birthday party.

Hoover gives us both Clara and Morgan’s perspectives as Clara navigates a new relationship and both mother and daughter enter unchartered waters when their lives are thrown of course. Old friends, secrets, misunderstands, resentment, truths and more unfold.

While the story only offers us a brief glimpse into the lives of Clara and Morgan, Hoover offers depth, insight and such raw emotions. She allowed me not only to connect to Morgan but also to Clara and to understand this young woman’s actions and emotions.

Regretting You touches on love, healing, faith, family, truth, and forgiveness. It was beautifully done. This is a book I would gift my daughter, a friend or a colleague. This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Remind me - mixing things up with an occasional romance...don't do it. You won't like it. The basic story line is fine. Just not a genre I appreciate.

Read this in one day..mainly because of a time crunch but also found myself wanting to know what happened even though it was a bit predictable from the start

Such a whirlwind of a story. More melodramatic than other Colleen Hoover books but still so good. Still has a couple steamy bits, classic to Hoover.

Enjoyed it more than most ColHo books, just don’t know that her style of writing will ever make me feel like I could give it more. But easy to read, keep me wondering what would happen next

Ohhhhhhhh Colleen Hoover…. This is only your second novel i have read but it may be my last. I almost DNF’d it.

Really, I’ll give this 2.5 stars and that is only because of the character Miller Adams who deserved so much better.

This book, this story could have been epically better if it had just delved into the plot more.

How did affair start? When did it start? Where did it start? Did Chris and Jenny feel any remorse whatsoever?

Why didn’t Morgan read the damned letters? I get it was supposed to be some empowerment move but like… i think the readers want to know.

Also the timeframe of how this all unfolds just seems so unrealistic to me. Like it had only been, what, 45-60 days from when they died? I mean, i get that Jonah and Morgan had feelings for one another when they were younger and their spouses cheated on them with each other but… less than 2 months of getting over all that and moving on? Just doesn’t seem true. Maybe if the plot covered the span of a couple of years, it would make so much more sense to me.

And Clara. Poor, insufferable Clara. I get she’s a teenager and dealing with the loss of loved ones but wow the whining. The self doubt. I would get to her chapters and cringe through them wondering if this how I was as a teenager. God i hope not. And how she manipulated Miller into her bedroom?!?!? I was furious!

And finally, did they ever go to family counseling? It was mentioned by Morgan towards the end of the book and my goodness do they need it.

Okay rant over. Miller Adams, you may have been the only good thing to come out of this book.
