This was good but I like the book more. I think the photos in the book fit more than the art in this format.

I just love this story.

At first I was afraid that this story was going to be a horror story but then it is the same cover that made me so curious to pick it up.

I've seen people say good things about the novel and the graphic novel is done well.

Cassandra Jean is an amazing artist, I have always loved her works and art style and I love how we get to see Ransom Riggs' characters in the flesh.

I have a dying need to read the novel and Hollow City, to find out what happens to Miss Peregrine and her Peculiar Children

5/5 :)

Jacob travels with his family to a remote island where he explores an abandoned house that was once Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. Soon, though, he discovers that the house might not be haunted after all; perhaps the children are still alive.

This graphic interpretation of the original book includes the photographs from the novel and is engaging and entertaining. I can see this book being very popular among my patrons, whose two favorite types of books are graphic novels and paranormal stories.

Loved this! It's been awhile since I've read this one, and I really wanted to read Hollow City, so I'm really excited I could quickly read this graphic novel as a refresher! Going to read Hollow next for the first time! #TBRTakedown

Love this story...the new one just came out and I thought I'd read the graphic novel to catch myself back up. It did remind me of the story line, but it was so lacking in strong character development...just didn't love it....

First read: November 2013

Second read: July 2016

With the movie coming out and Ransom touring close to home, I decided to revisit the material. I forgot how much I loved this book and the world Ransom created! It's so unique and fun and whimsical. It was a perfect thing to read after Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. I've read the second book to this series but I never finished the trilogy (along with Angelfall) so I'm hoping to jump into book 2 again and then finally complete the series!

Re-read this as a graphic novel to have the refresher before the movie comes out. Not gonna lie, the illustrations made this a little more creepy than just reading the text book. I am also glad they used some of the photos they had throughout the regular book, it was a nice contrast to the drawing style.

You can't include everything in a graphic novel that you have in a text-based book. That's common sense. Ultimately, I think the graphic novel is wonderful but it does leave some details out that make the original book delightful. Again, there just isn't room for it all in the graphic novel but the graphic novel can stand alone if need be. It has it's own great vibe.

A great adaptation I picked up to refresh my brain on this story before I follow up with Hollow City. I've been a follower of Cassandra Jean's for awhile and her art in this is fabulous. Loved the expressive characters and the Wizard of Oz like use of color. The story itself gets a bit rushed, and overall is not like my most favorite thing ever, though I quite enjoy it.

I am halfway through this and I am in love. When it's over it's going to break my heart.
