Interesting enough and well written. Just not a show stopping book & quite predictable.

More like 2.5 stars. I kept starting and stopping. I was intrigued that the heroine was older, hoping I could related to her. Instead I was annoyed THROUGHOUT. Being 55 is not one foot in the grave. Being retired for a year doesn't mean you've forgotten everything. I didn't read the reviews at the start, and I should have. I'd read the Adele Sharp series and thought I might like this one, no sorry.
Next time, I'll do a bit of research first.
(not-so) Happy Reading!

i liked the mystery. hated everything else. romanticizing police officers/FBI. treating them as superior, smarter and near superhuman? the way the cops treated and talked about potential suspects or former defendants was subhuman. hated the twist at the end where the true killer was found based on Kate noticing a *twinkle* in his eye? that’s not good police work and that’s not realistic
