4 stars. This was a good book! This is Livia and Chase's story. Livia is a librarian and good friend/coworker with Chase's sister, Meghan. Livia has always wanted to be a mom. She has some mommy issues of her own and as she sees her thirtieth birthday approaching, she decides to take matters into her own hand with a fertility clinic. But before that happens, she meets Chase, by chance, through one of her library patrons she mentors. They are both immediately attracted to each other. But Livia thinks Chase is a player so she turns down his advances. But they meet again later when Chase is babysitting his nephews and brings them into the library. Chase pursues Livia, even though he doesn't really do relationships. She really would like to spend time with Chase, without a relationship because she's been burned in the past, and she decides to kill two birds with one stone, by asking him to get her pregnant. Chase really likes Livia, despite that he doesn't really do relationships, so he agrees to her proposal. The couple embarka on a journey to conceive that turns them into partners with a common goal. They have some really sexy, sweet, funny and emotional times. And they find themselves falling for each other and not being able to imagine raising a baby or spending the rest of their lives without each other.

This ended up being a sweet, sexy, emotion-filled, pleasant surprise of a book! I admit I was worried about Chase bring a manwhore, but there was no OW drama or anything. He showed his true colors and there was no doubt he adored Livia from the moment he met her. He was charming, funny and sexy. Livia was strong and didn't feel like she needed a man to make her dream of being a mom come true, but she was also lonely. As she and Chase became a team in their quest to get pregnant, they made a real connection and both found things in each other that they had no idea they wanted. They were a great match together. The TTC details were spot on and totally funny, too. There was also a great HEA and epilogue.

Overall, Chase and Livia's story was sexy, sweet and funny! I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from both Ms. Simone and Ms. Paige!

Finished it, but barely

Although the writing was decent, I found the storyline to be a little unbelievable. I get it's a book and. It real, but it was a little too far removed from reality for my taste.

Listened to the audiobook on Audible.

First, the narrators were fantastic!!

This is a cute and predictable story. If you’re looking for meaningless steamy entertainment then this is for you. The book is a nice escape.

Hot cop is a book about a cop who isn’t interested in relationships and a librarian who wants a baby. Enough said. I listened to it because some of the reviews mentioned that this was super steamy and that is true! Lots of graphic scenes. Personally, it was worth the Audible credit.

Yes to all this.. and if you have the chance to get the audiobook then even more YES

Fun, spicy, sweet, and cute book!

Dual narration- Jacob Morgan & Elena Wolfe

I love these two! No one delivers this kind of MMC quite like Jacob Morgan.

Livia is a 29 yr old librarian who is single and dreading turning 30. She has sworn off men but she wants a baby. Intro to the “hot cop” Chase.

Chase is a 30 something yr old cop who is known as Mr. Goodtime. He won’t settle down because he has a dangerous job. When he meets Livia he is infatuated and wants to show her his kind good time.

Livia has decided Chase should be her baby daddy, but without all the strings.

Through this story there are hilarious lines and great supporting characters. I laughed, I swooned, and enjoyed the spice. 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Highly recommend this one. My only complaint as usual I wish it were Duet narration however it is still a very good book 😍

There's officially less than a month before the story inspired by Sierra Simone and her hot cop husband* can hit (and cuff) your readers! YAY!

*No no no, it's not REALLY their true life story. Not even a little bit, really. Although she did used to be a librarian. And he is a cop. So, maybe? I mean...what IS life, anyway?

Picture of a baby wearing a police officer hat. Caption: He just wants to give it to her. She just wants to keep it when he's done.

This book was so sweet and touching. It takes place in the same universe as Logan and Devi. I love that Livia and Chase got their HEA

I will tell you right off the bat that you've read this story before. It wasn't called Hot Cop with the hunk on the cover, but you've read it. The story wasn't terribly original, and at one point, I wanted to smack both the man and woman upside the head, but it was a cute story.

Chase Kelly is a police officer in Kansas City. He's called to a disturbance at the library and runs smack into Livia Ward. He's instantly attracted to her, despite her being a hot mess. Livia is a librarian and has sworn off men, but her 30th birthday is approaching, and she desperately wants a baby. Chase wants to sleep with her, so they will both get what they want.

Guess what happens next? That's right, they end up falling in love, but they are a) too stubborn to admit or b) too stupid to realize it's happened. But it happens. And it was really predictable. But I liked Chase, a lot. Despite being super good looking and kind of cocky, he was a good guy, who really cared about his grandfather and his nephews.

If you're looking for a light romance, this is the perfect book. You can likely finish in 24 hours.

4.5 delightfully naughty stars

This might be one of the more adorable books I’ve read recently. I started the book thinking most adorable, but then came a trope that trips me up in most novels, but I got over it eventually. The heroine Livia annoyed me at times with her pigheaded ideas, but I also understood her, because eerily enough, she’s basically me in many ways. Except for certain things she wants.

Anyway. Now I just need to find me a Chase Kelly. Because oh my, Officer Kelly is sheer perfection in a hero. Some might say he’s too perfect, but that is kind of the point. For reasons. Seriously, RIP my ovaries coz they’re in smithereens because of him. He’s a bearded tattooed dreamboat hot cop, feminist lady killer, and an honest to God nerd!

That’s yet another thing I loved about this book, all the little Kansas City references and tidbits; it had me getting super nostalgic for my old home. Plenty of books wax poetic about very big cities and very small towns, but very rarely do you see so much love for small-big cities in the Midwest. You can tell the author hailing from there has a lot to do with it. Overall this was a very fun book reading experience!
