As someone who feels like I have my stuff together (dream job, no debt whatsoever, great relationships), I still felt like I learned something from this book. I read it to see if it would be a good book to give to my daughter, and I believe it is.

This is a quick irreverent guide to not being a total disaster. I appreciated Knight’s take on some of the normal struggle areas, and the little tips on what worked for her were informative. The tips were also easy to start immediately, which is key for me actually following any advice.
I felt like the section on grades was speaking directly to the baggage that I have taken with me from school days into parts of my adult life where it doesn’t belong. Like seriously, have we met? That description was on the nose, and it made me reevaluate some things.

I love books like this one- snarky and sweary inspirational.😀. Nothing too groundbreaking here but still nice for the reminders that you can improve your life with simple methods (simple, not easy). Recommended.

Mixed feelings about this book. I think it will suit some people and not others. Some people get a kick out of tough love, but reading “you don’t even care about your appearance do you, you fat slob” is not going to be helpful for those who already have a voice in their head saying that as they harm themselves. I was surprised by how much of the book is about exercise and dieting. I’d avoid this book if you have a history of disordered eating. Also, and it’s fine for this book to exist for those people, but this book is definitely for the upper middle class. The saving advice is about cutting back on pizzas to afford holidays and how to phrase your out of office. So maybe bare that in mind when investing your time if that isn’t you.

More than many other books of its kind, this book was full of “I couldn’t have said it better” moments, ahas, and laughs. As soon as I finished I thought to reread to make sure I had it all soaked in. I trust her more for her lack of psych degrees and wealth of personal experience.
