This was an absolutely delightful and mostly fluffy young adult romance anthology. We are given short stories from 8 different Desi writers about teenagers attending a family wedding!
There are eight standalone stories but are connected via the wedding and they all were so much fun. My favorite story was the paranormal one, “A Very Blood Kalyanam” by Anahita Karthik (Indian & queer).
This anthology features two authors I’ve read before (Noreen Mughees-Indian, Tashie Bhuyian-Bangladeshi) and six that were brand new to me:
Prerna Pickett: Indian
Payal Doshi: Indian
Syed M. Masood: Pakistani
Aamna Qureshi: Pakistani
Sarah Mughal Rana: Pakistani
That’s what I love about anthologies — you are given a sample of their writing and will often find new-to-you authors; it’s a low-stakes way to find new authors!!! I’m so excited to read more from the rest of these Desi authors 😍
