One thingthat I do like about Sue Grafton is that her books aren't formulaic. There's the same characters, but the mystery is always different. In this book, Kinsey is on the sesarch to clear her ex-husband's name after she had him committed of a crime many years before. It started out pretty interesting, but dragged considerably in the middle. I like that Grafton uses real detective work in her novels and doesn't rely soley on action to keep her readers interested, but in this case, the constant string of interviews with Kinsey constantly running into dead ends got a little dull.

this was my least favorite of the whole series. the story was boring and could have been done a lot better with the emotional hook, but fell extremely flat and was not interesting at all. i'm hoping the next one is more entertaining or i might have to give up on it altogether.

An interesting view into Kinsey's past. I prefer the "sometime in the past" feel of the other books, although I appreciated Sue Grafton's forward about the timing and date of the books which provided clarity for the themes in the book. Time for Kinsey to look forward again the next book (I hope!).

Really cool look into Kinsey's past in this one. I liked that she felt honor bound to see this through considering how she is usually so dismissive of ties to family.
