As other reviewers have said, this book isn’t really offering any new advice. It kind of read like a fancy, extended edition of a buzzfeed list/article. It was a gentle and refreshing reminder of what’s important as we head into the holiday season.

I think I may have needed to read her book 7 first as this felt disjointed to me. I liked some of the ideas of letting go and turning to God and having more time for each other and God during the holidays, spending our dollars locally, re-purposing items, and cutting down on spending. Overall I would have enjoyed it more if Jen Hatmaker had read it to me.

A wonderful way to simplify the Christmas season. Jen Hatmaker provides Bible verses and points of reflection to help you consider what is most important during the holidays: God and family.

I absolutely loved 7 and with my new-found desire to consume less and be a better steward of the earth, I have been extremely anxious about the holiday season coming up. I think there were some great ideas in this book and it's definitely a good reminder of how we should approach this season, but the format felt disjointed and I would have liked more specific examples and reflections of how Jen has implemented these things now many years after the original 7 challenge.

I listened to the Audio-book (Not narrated by the author, sadly) and LOVE the concept of simplifying Christmas into a season of genuine generosity. I will be trying many of the ideas in the book to improve my family's experience of the season.

It felt a bit disorganized, but there were some truly lovely moments.

This was a great book for the Christmas season. I’m really looming forward to reading it again next year at the start of the season and trying to keep it mind throughout.
