Un saggio direi necessario per chiunque voglia approfondire Dostoevskij.
Non è una lettura affatto semplice, ma è davvero illuminante per capire questo straordinario autore, oltre che per comprendere molti elementi della letteratura in sé.

что ж, я совершил ошибку, прочитав эту книгу на русском языке. я почти уверен, что понял только треть книги, но, по крайней мере, я старался изо всех сил. эту книгу было бы достаточно сложно читать на языке, на котором я свободно говорю... например, французский или английский, но видимо я мазохист, ха-ха. теперь я чувствую себя очень глупо и кроме того, у меня болит голова... и к тому же у меня болит голова. я рекомендую эту книгу всем!

The first time through I took this as a manifesto for an artform yet-to-come. Bakhtin's polyphonic novel - wherein voices and ideas exist in endless, unresolved, ever-evolving dialogue with each other - seemed like an essential development that was still just out of reach.

On my second reading I became convinced by his readings of Dostoevsky, particularly those towards the end of the book that deal with the linguistic shifts in his work wherein contradictory positions are anticipated, integrated, or else twisted into something new.

I look forward to taking this back with me to Dostoevsky now, and to how my own responses may develop from there.
