Jeeze, 5 stars for the Evie/Sebastian reunion alone. The rest of the book is cute, too, but damn that one scene can live rent free in all my daydreams.

I want a friend like Lillian.

The only difference between the villain of Secrets of a summer night and this love interest is that one is conventionally attractive and the other isn't. They're both disgusting men that threathen to rape-- or excuse me-- "ravish" the female lead and (try to) forcefully kiss them, against there will. Grose. And the talk of that she shouldn't take it that seriously, that he's just a man, that it's no big deal, was unironic and so on the nose it was bizar. Those are the things so many sexual assault victims hear. And this time we should want to ship the two people??
Even ignoring that part it was just insta love. Boringgg.

Knowing this would be shorter than a regular book, and it being a Christmas-y story, I was just here for the kicks. I liked Hannah a lot actually, but mostly I’m a sucker for revisiting the original heroines, and peeking into their lives 😉

Wish it was longer, to get to know the main characters more. As is, the male lead comes off as too aggressive, and the affection grows too suddenly. Loved seeing the couples from the rest of the series.

"And every Christmas eve, Rafe wrote a love letter and left it on her pillow."

Loved it! Hannah is a very likeable heroine. Rafe's childhood stories brought tears to my eyes. I loved them as a couple as well. The love letter made me swooon.

I also loved the tidbits on the wallflowers and their husbands. There was more focus on the Westcliffs and the St. Vincents. I wish we saw more of the Hunts and the Swifts. So that was kind of disappointing. I especially needed more Simon because...you know..Simon *heart eyes*

Otherwise, I actually find myself being satisfied with the finality of the Wallflowers.

Là honnêtement c'est parce que je voulais retrouver les personnages des autres romans.

The toupee troubles were fun! Loved getting more of the Wallflowers and their husbands.

This was a short but oh so sweet little Christmas read! I CANNOT stop listening to holiday audio books right now, and on 1.75x speed I got through this shorty in about 3.5 hours. Definitely a fun listen, with the tiniest bit of spice!

Felt like a visit with old friends. It was nice to see the wallflowers again and watch how their lives have progressed. Rafe and Hannah were ok. The story was too short to really let me develop a feel for them as individuals, much less buy into their love story. However, it's not an unpleasant read.
