I read like this entire series while at my grandparents' house when I was 13ish. They are completely unremarkable and I would definitely not have read them had I not needed to escape their company.

This is the first book in a forgotten girls series from the early 1920s. I find series books can be hit or miss as far as literary merit goes, Janet: A Twin is better written than many series books I've read. It's the story of a lonely young girl who learns she has a twin sister. She's an orphan living with her stern grandmother, and the descriptions of her loneliness and feelings of not fitting in in her small town are well done.
