Oh my….

This was dark and so dang good. I never thought I was going to be this invested in the series, but it continues to blow me away. My heart is breaking for Bravelands as they attempt to get things back to normal. I’m not sure what’s wrong with Titan, but he’s not like a regular lion anymore and I’m not sure what’s possessing him. Overall, I can’t say too much about this one because it’s a sequel but if you’ve ever considered picking up this series, I highly recommend that you go for it. It’s worth a read!

Thorn initially refuses to believe that he is the new Great Father, but finally accepts his new role. Sky discovers something horrible about her new life mate Rock, finds her brother Boulder, and takes on the care of two cheetah cubs and a lion cub, Menace, Ruthless's younger sister. Fearless's sister takes a mate who Fearless is threatened by and ultimately leaves his pride because of him.

Note: This is the 4th book in the Bravelands series so this will not be an in-depth review.

If you have been following my reviews for a while, then you know that last year I read 100 books. After succeeding at that goal, I entered into a massive reading slump so as a result, I haven’t been reading as much, but I finally managed to get to one of my anticipated releases for May, Shifting Shadows, the 4th book in the Bravelands series by Erin Hunter, and it was just as engaging and exciting as the 1st 3 books.

The best thing about these books is the world-building as it is very intricate. Each species in Bravelands has a unique hierarchy and mythos, but they also have an overarching system that connects them together into a community. I really appreciate all the thought that went into creating this world as most middle-grade authors would not put as much effort into their world-building.

The only slight problem that I had with this book is the fact that the new villain/menace is not explained very well, and I hope that gets better in later books.

All in all, it was a great addition to the series. 4.5 stars!!!!!!!

Ça commence à tourner en rond. De plus, je comprends que ce sont des animaux de la savane et que ce sont les lois de la nature, mais pour un roman jeunesse, je commence à trouver ça un peu violent

Paige and I have been reading this series. I find it dark and violent but she loves them. There are a ton of characters (all animals) and the relationships and interactions are extremely intricate. They are well written and use great vocabulary.

I liked the third book a little more, but I’m flabbergasted that at four books, I’m still completely interested and intrigued and entertained! I’m not a series person and usually after book two of a series I’m over it. But I love these characters and the plot keeps getting better and I find myself thinking about these books throughout the day. I’m so excited you-know-who is the great parent! I’m so intrigued to find out what happens with Berry, and as always Sky is a gem and a pure soul and I love her to pieces!
