This is the book the kids picked for story time.

not as good as the first

Fun, hilarious, with a gentle undercurrent about kids overcoming their fears. Loved the wackiness--and read many lines out loud to unsuspecting family members--as well as the sweetness. Looking forward to reading #3.

I used the 1st book as a read-aloud at the beginning of the year with my 5th grade class. I rarely read aloud the sequels...but wanted to read for myself this one since the first book was so much fun! Another hilarious adventure with Mrs. Wellington, Schmidty, and Macaroni. The best part-finding out the ture identity of Abernathy!

"Eccentric headmaster Mrs. Wellington demands requests the presence of Madeleine, Theo, Lulu, and Garrison for a mandatory summer of retraining after discovering that each of her former students has secretly regressed. Facing their fears was terrifying enough, but when the foursome learns they'll be joined by a fifth student, things start to get even scarier. To make matters worse, the students quickly find themselves tasked with saving their school. And because failing means spending the rest of their lives with unresolved phobias, this is one test they all plan to ace."

For me, Class is Not Dismissed! did not hold my interest like the first in this series. I did a bit of skimming here and there. However, one could miss the climax and ending if you read too fast, seriously, they were on the same page. Talk about leaving the reader hanging!
