If other people can review this book before the ARCs even come out, THEN I CAN TOO! This book is bound to be dark, riveting, and creeptastic and I cannot wait to read it.

this book was too big for its britches. a story of collective “almosts” that just never really came home. It could have been so much more. Over promised, under delivered.

at risk of sounding like a bitch, this was incredibly mediocre. so all over the place, it feels more like a half-finished manuscript - bouncing back and forth between countless different povs in 2019 + 1999 but never giving us enough time to really connect with any characters. for a relatively short novel, there were far too many dropped plot lines (bling ring??). i’m also low-key sick of the jaded ex-wife trope in thrillers like wowww your husband left you for a younger woman what an original plot point

The cogs of the wheel stop turning about a quarter of the way in, and it feels stuck in mud after that. There are several plotlines that don't seem connected to the main, which gives it a kitchen sink feeling. Likely a good for you, not for me scenario.
