In this book, author Alisa Childers, (who also exposed "progressive" Christianity. in her first book, Another Gospel?) discusses and dispels, once again, philosophies of self-help "Christian" authors and influencers to be out of alignment with the teachings of Jesus and Biblical scripture. Childers calls out several popular authors by name, including Brene Brown and Glennon Doyle, who identify themselves as "Christian" but who push ideas that not actually based in the Bible. While I have read and liked books by Brown and Doyle, I found myself agreeing with Childers and her arguments, most of which are based in the New Testament. I found the book interesting, just as I did Childers' first book, and it gave me a lot of food for thought. As a Christian myself, I agree with Childers that we must look to Jesus and scripture for self-worth and life-directing, soul restoring truth..
