This book was waaaayyyy too long and not interesting until the very end. I literally did not care at all for the characters or anything happening for over the first half of the book. I thought the different POVs (now, then, and the diary entries) worked well but I still wasn’t overly invested in the characters. I didn’t get gripped until around 70% into the story and once I did I was super hooked and enjoyed the twist and how the story ended. But having to wait until the last fourth of the book to be interested was too much for me. If I hadnt been listening to the audio while driving for work I would have dnf’d well before I got to the good part.

Shifting POV is fine when done well, but I found it to be disruptive in this book. However, the automatic 1 star for me was the multiple instances of rape and sexual assault. There are better, more creative ways to make me to hate a character than making them a rape a woman in a coma. I found it to be a lazy way to add shock factor to a story that didn't need i
