I really enjoyed this satirical Victorian novella full of Wilde's wit and humour. It is again a dig by the author at the high society of his time.

I read this in a collection of Oscar Wilde’s short stories and this was by far my fave short story! Arthur’s character was so complicated to me and I actually loved the theme of fate vs free will in this story. I was always on edge about who he was really going to kill and to be honest,  i kept questioning if he had really followed his fate or created his own. Truly, i loved how Oscar portrayed duty and wrapped a sense of heroism in such an evil act (murder). All in all this was a really unexpected short story that i ended up liking the most!
