i really enjoyed this book! However I did have a problem with Devin not wanting to go to rehab initially and “weaned” himself off of his heroin/oxy addictions. I applaud this book for taking on such a dark and very timely subject, however, people can literally die from withdrawals. I think that that part could’ve been better represented in the book. It was good that Devin finally did go to rehab. I get in a way why Devin wanted to visit his old haunts, though I question WHY he didn’t take chase along for support. I know that Devin needed to do it himself, though with Chase, I think it would’ve made them much stronger. A big part of recovery is getting to the root causes of why a person turns to drugs to make the pain go away or be muted. It also helps to learn healthy coping mechanisms to deal with things. So I’m very happy that Devin got that. I love this writer’s style. I think he did a good job with the domestic violence issue with his ex David. I didn’t like how the Police dept felt that Devin’s 911 call was a “prank”. Being a former 911 call taker, you treat every call, including perceived pranks like they are the real thing, because you never know. It really troubled me that they thought a 911 call was a prank. Even small towns have domestic violence. Anyway, I enjoyed the book. Enjoyed the characters. Love this series. Highly recommend it and author Romeo Alexander.

God getting Chase and Devin's story is so good. I adore these two so much. They're each other's rocks and im so soft. THE 3RD ACT OMFG I WASNT EXPECTING THAT! (I did in fact forget that happened at the end of my best friends secret but leave me be) This book really put Devin through the ringer but you see why he deserves so much and I'm just so glad he gets better. Chase my grumpy guy I love you. I did in fact tear up when Chase said I love you bc you're you and you exist.
