This book/monograph is so exactly my very specific niche that I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw someone had written it. Unsurprisingly I didn't agree with all or even most of Kaethler's conclusions but also some of the Western/systematic stuff in the Ratzinger chapters was probably over my head (though Ratzinger's own work is always crystal clear and easy to understand, which is interesting). And despite Kaethler's criticisms, his attempts to draw together Schmemann's thoughts from countless sources and give them a more systematic structure was really valuable and would have been a mammoth task, so maybe he understands better than me and his criticisms are more well founded than I think. Something to read again later.
