The story takes off from Marie's first novel. So far there is romance, mystery and intrigue. My favorite character is the regal Abigail.

Cute idea - the quilting circle of friends. It just kept making me think bad tv movie.

Not sure why, but I just couldn't connect with this book or its characters. No one big thing, but perhaps a bunch of little things: a bit of dialogue that sounded forced, a cliche, etc.
I like books about friendship, which this book was, but this wasn't a winner for me.

This second book in the series was equally as good as the first. A new character was introduced, Ivy. I loved this quote from her on the last couple of pages of the book "Now everything that's happened to me - the good, the bad, the mistakes of the past and my hopes for the future - is part of the life I'm living today. Nothing gets ignored, or denied, or left to lurk on the doorstep."

Ivy Petersen was running with her two kids from her abusive husband. She ended up in New Bern Conn. There sheis able to build a new life for her and her kids until one day she unwittingly alerts her husband to their whereabouts. This book details her courage in standing up to him and how she re-built her life with the help of all her new friends in her quilting circle.

This book hit at a perfect time in my life, bringing warm happy thoughts and memories of my granny. It has a good storyline, touches some tough topics, and shows the true value of friendship and Jesus.

I listened to the Chirp book, and the narrators were pretty good.

Charlie's good advice reminds me of Brad.

Can the club really quilt while drinking wine?

I liked the cute sewing sayings.

This wasn't a bad read, but I was a little disappointed in the depth of the characters. It got a little silly and "happily ending after" ish for me.

only read this book if you are familiar with quilting and the quilting community. otherwise, it won't be interesting. But since I love quilting, I loved these books. A light read, quick and easy. Definitely a feel-good book. Perfect way to start the summer.
