The first story about the renewal of Midgard was boring but I could appreciate the sentiment. The second story for the new Thor was just as I predicted of Noelle Stevenson so I could literally tell what was to happen up until its finish. The third story was just plain stupid. All of the artwork was rubbish too. Disappointed.

The art, the story lines, the general execution were iffy for me in all three of the mini-stories told in this issue. I'm in the Thor comics reading business because I like new Thor, and she just didn't get a fair break in this annual it seemed.

Thor Annual 1 is a compilation of three stories: "King Thor" (by Jason Aaron and Timothy Truman) is about an old Thor and his three granddaugthers. The women will try to get the perfect present for him. "Thor" (by Noelle Stevenson and Marguerite Sauvage) is challenged by Odison's friends to achieve some hard goals. And "Young Thor" (by CM Punk and Rob Guillory) is about Thor challenging Mephisto to a drinking contest. So, we have one story to make us think and two stories to laugh at and enjoy. Quite nice reading.
