BookTok led me astray once again. Started off unhinged and not what I signed up for... and as usual, I had to read on. It was fine, I guess.

I'm so glad I went back and finished this series. Even though I read it out of order
"Noah needed warmth and laughter. He needed someplace where he didn't need to be perfect all the time. Where he could just be Noah."
Oh sweet Noah and fierce Molly, they were so well matched. I will say the title of this book could not be more well-intentioned! Both of them had such clear goals and a point where their focus was meant to be but as you will see when you dive in...their focus kept being drawn to one another.
Second Chance Romance
Childhood Crush
Football Romance
Forbidden Romance
Grumpy x Sunshine
I read the prequel series to this book where we find her brother Logan and his wife's love story first. It is where we initially find Molly and Noah together so fast-forwarding years later to where they are now in this book with that background knowledge was super helpful. You can read this book as a standalone but I recommend reading the other books prior to get the full effect of who Molly was and how they started their romance.
Either way, I devoured this book in full entirety and can't wait to read the rest of the sister's love stories and see more of how this family finds every ounce of romance they deserve.

I was super excited that Logan's sisters from The Marriage Effect are getting stories. This is the first sister. Diving into this brought everything back that happened when Molly was a teen. I knew I was in for a great book and I wasn't disappointed. I could hardly put this down. Noah and Molly's past wasn't a great one, but now years later fate has put these two back in each other's orbit. It's going to be awkward and uncomfortable, but neither planned on what was to come next. I love the Ward family and getting to dive back into their lives made my day. Seeing Logan and Paige in the HEA made my heart so happy. Seeing the girls grown and adults is a little mind blowing. Molly and Noah's story is so good. It was everything I was looking forward to. Noah is called "The Machine" in the football world, but is he letting life pass him by? A new adventure with his new team is setting him on path he never thought was in his future. The moments between Molly and Noah are sweet and adorable. The set up for the next Ward sister has me eagerly awaiting it. I cant wait for more!!

Oh, I really liked this! Enemies-to-lovers is probably my most favorite trope, and combined with second-chance, teen-crush...oh, man, I can't even!
I'm so glad KS decided to give us a spin-off series for the Ward sisters, since they made such a big impact in The Marriage Effect. I can't wait for the next one!

Like some may have stated, this had all the makings of things i should love with some of my favorite tropes and yet it felt incredible lacking.
It was at times a little boring, the pace was weird and the way everything progressed didn't really make sense. One minute he supposedly hates her and has a "no women rule" and the next he realizes he's suddenly in love with her?? Like he went 0 to 100 real quick and it just felt like we missed a part.
Also at times everything just felt forced, and they seemed to lack a bit of chemistry..
