Very good and my first book by this author. Easy to read and the characters were easy to relate to.. although I predicted the ending halfway through, it is still worth it .
I took this out of the library in July 2016 and realized I had definitely read it before. Think I read it last summer. Can't remember if it was 3 stars or 4 but my recollection is that it wasn't one of my favorites (though any Mary Kay Andrews is fun!)
It was alright. Quick, easy, mindless read. My least favorite of her books.
Really slow start. Took forever to get into it and I couldn't sit and read it for long periods of time, I got bored.
It felt like every chapter the author describes who the characters are again and again and uses their full names uneccisarily. Just added to her word count, I guess.
I really wouldn't classify this as romance. It was 90% about the movie with the tiniest amount of flirting and romance, and only one sex scene.
The end was really rushed to tie up the storyline between her and Eb and her and her dad. For 335 pages, it had so much more potential..

Fun fluff. Andrews's writing reminds me of Janet Evanovich. Maybe it's just me.
The main character got on my nerves with her judgmental attitude. Don't you just love a protagonist who thinks she knows everything?

This was cute, I really liked how none of the plot was derived from people just not Telling The Truth - so often in these rom-com novels there's some little misunderstanding that snowballs into a Big Giant Huge problem, and that didn't happen here.
Super brief summary: Main female character with a weird name is a location scout for Hollywood movies; she finds a little brokeback town in Florida to shoot the latest blockbuster starring a famous punk-ass rocker. The town's mayor (male) is skeptical of the movie's plans and definitely doesn't want the filmmakers blowing up the famous local used-to-be-a-hotspot-but-is-now-a-ruin building. He also has a weird name. Guy meets girl, and also other things happen.
I can't give this four stars though, because WHAT THE HELL HAPPENS TO HER JOB???? Throughout the book we learn how important this project is to her future prospects and career in general. She's obviously super competent but Hollywood is fickle. The movie itself Just seemed like a huge editing oversight that really bothered me.

ends up tanking, but that's not her fault. And at the end they're all happy and getting married but, um, hello? Where's career woman? WHAT HAPPENED?
funny
lighthearted
medium-paced
I really enjoyed this light, fun, clever, well-written, quick read. Highly recommend for a vacation read.
