I keep rereading this- mostly for the beginning. The recorded mesage just really gets to me. I think the beginning really showcases the true strength of the heroine, which gets a bit in your face later on (not that I don't also enjoy that).

This was another great addition of Duvall's. The only reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 4 though is because I didnt really feel the personal connection to Eliana that I usually do with the IG. She felt very one dimensional to me. We know she is a warrior and a bit of a goof from IG #10, but I guess I was hoping for a little more depth to her. Nonetheless, the book was entertaining and fun. Adding the sci-fi element for really the first time in one of Duvall's book was a lot of fun.

Can’t wait for this book to come out. The teaser at the end of the Lasaran!! Omg

Edit 8/5/20: I find myself just randomly thinking about this book at least once a week. The teaser has me so hooked. Updates from Dianne’s reader group are that this book is due prior to the end of 2020, so we should have it this year :)

Edit 11/1/20: Dianne has finished writing the book! It’s with her editor and they are getting Kristen Potter scheduled for narration. We should have a release date and pre-order soon!!

Edit 1/20/21:

I think I had a stupid grin on my face for the vast majority of this book. This was a really fun read!

For me the only drawback was that Eliana is such a ‘bruh girl’, it works for story since she’s just hanging out with dudes the whole time talking about weapons and eating (and has been doing that for centuries). But it was a little over the top for me

Better than the first because it actually took place in space, but still not enough scifi for me.
It's the vampire thing or immortal guardians as they are called in this book.
There isn't a reason why I didn't connect to this book. I liked both characters, there were space battle, and it took place on a space ship, I just didn't connect to either of them romantically.

***Okay read, 3 stars***

This is the second audiobook in the Aldebarian Alliance and it picks up exactly where The Lasaran ended. While this is a spinoff of the Guardian Immortals series, this series holds its own and takes us into deep space where we meet new worlds, new races, and danger.

I love this series from the ships and technology to the characters, camaraderie, humor and passionate romance.

Eliana is this wonderful combination of heart, warrior and honesty. Not spiteful, she just blurts out her thoughts. From her appetite to her skill set she made me laugh, cheer and hope for her happily ever after. I adored Commander Dagon from his romantic side to the respect he gives Eliana. His crew respect him, but I also loved how Eliana softened him. Secondary characters from invaders to crew members added humor, tension, and a second romantic thread.

Duvall transported me and listening added a whole new level of enjoyment. Kirsten Potter did a stellar job of capturing Eliana’s vivacious personality. I loved the voice she gave to Dagon, the crew and others. Her pacing, tone and vocal abilities made an already amazing story amazing. Duvall’s writing style transfers to audio well from dialogue to imagery.

While this is Eliana’s story, there is an overall ARC involving a threat to all worlds, including Earth. You’ll want to grab your earbuds and download this one! This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Fun, hot, interesting! Woohoo just the thing to keep me hooked in a series

I thought I loved book one…. I LOVED book 2!

Eliana is out of this world AMAZING. What she does to survive I swear to God I felt her pain. It was incredible the connection she forges with Dagon and how he and all the men aboard the ship can’t help but fall to her feet her strength emanates.

I just was rooting so freaking hard for them. For her, it was incredible and then the fight to save the rest of the Earthlings. It really is a great series.

And I dove right into book 3.

Again, the narration for me was effortless.
