a fun, magical trip of the French President's hat and how it changes people's lives. maybe there is a little magic, maybe it is how items can give us confidence, or change our perspective. a fun trip.

This is a lovely little story. It's perfectly paced and full of little surprises. It's a very quick read, and I definitely recommend investing a few hours in this book.

This was a delight from start to finish. Nice to see it get a fresh look. But please, let's get the names of the translators on the cover, s'il vous plait.

An easy 5/5. Don't skip the Laurain interview at the end.

The first 70% of the book was quite funny and then the vibe suddenly changed. I am not sure yet what to think of the ending. Still, Antoine Laurain‘s books are always entertaining!

You literally cannot go wrong with an Antoine Laurain novel. This one flows between the lives of a handful of characters who come into possession of Francois Mitterrand’s hat. This novel is grounded and mystical, political and romantic, fanciful and inspiring. The translation from Gallic is, as always, gorgeous and really captures a feeling while still providing excellent literature. Any book that suggests a better work-life balance, putting your own self worth above the feelings of cruel men, opening your heart to people, widening your artistic imagination and emotional understanding, etc, is good in my books - but if it’s by Antoine Laurain, it’s going to be perfect.
