This should be listened to via audiobook. It was eye opening to think about my own story of race in relation to those of the book. There are all perspectives provided, and it is incredibly thought provoking. Definitely worth listening to!!

This book will make you think and teach you about pieces of history you never have heard about.

This was not a book I read cover to cover, I definitely grazed. However, I recommend taking a look at this book or The Race Card Project online and the stories of those who submitted their six words. What a view of the rich diversity we have and the harsh realities of the prejudice and bias that exist.

I really enjoyed this nuanced look at race relations, from the six words which were almost always food for thought to the fuller narratives on which the submitters shared the background on their submissions. I was happy to see the range, even though there were some whose POVs I definitely didn't agree with. An excellent project and outgrowth

This is a book everyone should read. Makes you really think about race in America and how systemic racism gets into every nook and cranny of our daily lives.
I really enjoyed listening to this in audio format
