It was really bad and really shallow.
And what Brian Herbert wrote is kind of funny:
"We’ll complete NAVIGATORS OF DUNE (the 19th novel in the Dune canon) and then see what should be added to the Dune universe, while maintaining the high quality standard that Frank Herbert established."
HIGH QUALITY STANDARD.
Like hell...

I was initially put off from reading the Brian Herbert books due to his reputation online with the dune community however I must say I found this book very good. Learning more about how different technologies were developed that were present in the original series was awesome and I enjoyed the concept of the cymex and the thinking machines. In particular Erasmus stood out as a captivating machine. I will continue to read further in the series!
