I can see why Scar got the cover of this one. It was really cool having him take on more of a role in this volume. It feels like the brothers and Winry are starting to get through to him.
Really great action sequences in this one. Loved all the alchemy from Ed, Al and Scar. I feel like the artwork is getting better as the series goes on.
Some good emotional stuff here too. Ed finding out the truth about his mom, Winry finding out Scar killed her parents, Lan Fan with a big sacrifice to save her prince.
Volume 8 ends on a cliffhanger with the reveal of Bradley being a homunculus and a captured Gluttony ready to strike. Really great book!

One of the best manga out there & in this lovely edition too. Bigger pages, with the bits that were in colour in colour here too. Win win. Good volume with some great action & some big plot developments too.

Con uno de los finales más fuertes en todos los tomos hasta ahora, nos cuestiona un tema vital de toda la obra: ¿qué significa realmente ser humano? ¿cuál es su límite?, y, en caso de existir uno, ¿qué significa para ese ser el vivir en ese límite? Recordándote no solo lo más reciente, si no las tragedias vistas casi desde el primer manga, conectando perfectamente la historia.
Además, la mantiene interesante al hacernos saber más de Hohenheim y esa gran sorpresa que conllevó el cambio de capítulo. Junto con el misterio de los homúnculos, es una de las cosas que más te mantiene leyendo.
Sin embargo no es un tomo perfecto y peca de repetir mucho ciertas ideas y hacer ciertas peleas innecesariamente largas, haciéndolas sentir casi como relleno. Sobra decir que habiendo tanto por explorar, esto no era necesario en lo absoluto.

Woah. Was this the Season One finale?! I don’t remember, but it sure felt like it. What an action packed volume. Definitely the best so far!
