4 Stars - I recommend if you are looking for a fairly fluffy read, but with quite a bit of depth. Especially if you love the small-town setting and quirky characters. Think, Stars Hollow!
When Peggy the cake lady passes away suddenly, the town of Nora is left with a big hole in it. Nora, the owner of the Miss Guthrie Diner is surprised to learn that Peggy left her house and all of her land to Nora and her sister Kit. When Kit comes to town, she and Nora must decide what to do with their inheritance. Should they sell it to a big box store, to farmers, to summer people, or keep it themselves? As the sisters try to make decisions and re-visit their past, the town must band together as the diner is struck by hard times.
I immediately was drawn to the writing style of this book, and the town of Guthrie. It sounded so cute and charming, and I felt like I could imagine it fully. I also immediately struggled because the chapters were SO LONG. However, at about 40% I think I became more invested in the characters and the plot and breezed through the rest of the book. I loved the details of the town: the places, the people, the town meetings, the online message board, the sculptures, etc. I absolutely ADORED the ending of this book. The way things came full circle made me teary in a happy way! I recommend if you're looking for a feel-good fluffy book with more substance than others. ;)
Right After Reading:
What a sweet story. It took me a bit but when I fell in love with the characters I fell hard. Everything about this story made me smile. It’s not quite hallmark level fluffy, but it’s still got that feel-good mood. The little town reminded me a bit of Stars Hollow, which didn’t hurt. The ending made me tear up. I definitely recommend it when you need a light read. :)

Three and a half stars. I enjoyed it but didn't love it the way that I did The City Baker's Guide to Country Living.

This book was a delight. Think Gilmore Girls, but set in Vermont and more focused on two sisters’ relationship. All around a sweet, fun read.

The Late Bloomers' Club takes place in small town Vermont centering around two sisters and their family diner. Throw in town meetings, a fall festival, a debate on whether a big box store is the right thing for their town, burnt sugar cake, and a search for a lost dog and you have the epitome of a cozy fall read. If you love Gimore Girls add this one to your TBR.

The Late Bloomers' Club by Louise Miller is based on a familiar real life scenario of an individual putting, what she feels may have been, her goals on hold for family obligations. It is the longing for the path not taken and its eventual resolution. The characters of sisters Nora and Kit and the lovely small town of Guthrie, Vermont create a sweet feel-good story.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 - After finishing American Dirt, which was a more emotional, intense read, I wanted something a little more lighthearted. This was a charming story set in a small town in Vermont. This story has sort of a Gilmore Girls feel to it. The plot and the ending are predictable, but it’s an easy, light hearted read.
Nora is the owner of a diner in small town Vermont. Her sister Kit is complete opposite of her and a bit more eccentric. Suddenly the sisters find themselves heir to a large plot of land owned by a former neighbor. A big-box developer has made a generous offer to buy the land and the sisters must decide what is best for them and their small town.
