Okay, so this book was hard for me to get into but by the end I was satisfied with this book. This book was very slow to start, so overall the first half of the book was a bit of a trudge for me and the longer (like 30+ pages each) chapters didn't help with that feeling. What also contributed to that is I really liked Nora as a character and felt like people took advantage of her generosity in the first half of the book, and in particular her sister Kit asked such a monstrous favor that I still cannot get over (I just can't, that moment made me so irrirated). It frustrated me, I felt like little was happening except for Nora getting dug into a (metaphorical) hole. The second half redeemed the book ( I also switched from the print book to audio and think it really helped). The sprinkle of romance really helped me enjoy the story (but didn't pop up until halfway through!) and I finally felt invested in the story and like we were finally getting somewhere. I guess my main issue was with the pacing (based on that ramble above) but the last 2-3 chapters were SO satisfying and redeemed this read for me. And despite the rambling above, Nora, the town, and many of the characters are very endearing. Anyways, I think if you like Hallmark movies, this could be a good book for you.
