A cute read, perfect for stocking stuffers, comic fans, and those who aren't apt to pick up books. This little book contains summaries, pictures and quotes from the comic book industries most "regrettable" superheroes. As the introduction states, "We call these second-tier (or lower) superheroes "regrettable," but it's important to remember that none of thesecharacters are inherently bad. Sometimes, the only factor that kept them from succeeding was bad timing, an unstable marketplace, or merely being lost in the crowd."Author Jon Morris explores some of the truly odd, overlooked, and underappreciated superheroes that are now largely forgotten. That cast includes: Doctor Hormone, Lady Satan, Rainbow Boy, Thunderbunny, and more. A quirky, quick, enjoyable read.

Even though I'm not a huge superhero fan this book was cute! I would have to say my favorite one had to be Rainbow Man!!
It was really interesting to see all the different werid heros people came up with.
One of the best features had to be some of the orginal comics in it.
If you like comcs and superheros then you should definitely puck this one up! Its a great book to read a couple between books or if your in a reading slump.

A collection of funny, kooky, and downright weird superheroes that just didn't quite pan out. Very entertaining.

Every one of these characters could be on the Venture Bros.

20 years ago I killed time reading the Gallery of Regrettable Food so clearly this genre interests me. Though reading this now leads to a couple interesting chapters with both Peacemaker and Squirrel Girl getting hugely popular in the years since publication.

Entertaining if you're in the mood for it. The chapters are all rather short, only hitting the barest of highlights (though for heroes that only lasted one issue, there's not much more to say). This makes it a great book if you don't have much time to read but would like to finish some small thing.

Recommended, though I bet you can find most of the info here online.

Book was entertaining and had some interesting moments. The old comics were seemingly repetitive though. I wish there were some more NEW regrettable superheroes. I could list off quite a few. I won't but with enough antagonizing I could... don't push me... or go ahead push me! I bet you won't.
Anyway it was fun reading about some poorly thought out comic characters and I love comics so much it hurts so this was at least a book in my wheelhouse of things I enjoy.

Yay comics heroes good and regrettable,
Justin
