Fun and fast read

It was everything you expected. The girl was annoyingly hot and cold, but overall the story was heartwarming and fun.

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Ann Christopher. She is absolutely, without a doubt, one of my favorite authors. But when I read A Journey's End the first time, I was shocked (and a bit disappointed) that I didn't love it. When I saw that this book had been released, I bought it immediately, because I was so happy that Ms. Christopher had put out another book, and I couldn't resist buying it. In preparation for reading Book 2, I read Book 1 again, and really enjoyed it (no idea what happened on the first read). Then I read this book and LOVED it! This book reminded me of why I fell in love with this author's writing in the first place.

I loved Edward and Reeve. They both had issues, but it was very clear from the start that they were meant for each other. Although it took a minute for Reeve, I love how Edward knew she was the one, and was immediately all in. He was NOT going to let Reeve get away, and she didn't really want to get away, LOL. I also love how the author didn't go the typical route with Edward and Amber, but made him sensitive to her feelings, and made her accepting of his, instead of turning her into a shrew. I hope we get to see her happy with someone else (Sean Baldwin maybe? I was on an airplane when he popped up and I almost screamed out loud! I really hope he gets a story).

So many good scenes in this book: Sofia and Toby's big blowout, Ethan's reaction to seeing Sofia the first time (as well as the convo between Reeve and Ethan!), and both scenes with Reeve and Mrs. Banks (poor Alyssa! Maybe Sean needs to console her :-) ), oh, and I can't forget Ella and Muffin - they were adorable!

From that cute epilogue, I'm guessing that Ethan and Sofia's story will be next, but then again we were teased with Daniel and Zoya in A Journey's End, so who knows. Whichever story is next, just know that I'm anxiously waiting to read it!

Loved it

On the one hand, I'm not usually a fan of insta-love. On the other, this was sooo good I couldn't resist.

4.5 stars

I loved Reeve. I loved that she realised something was wrong and she got counseling. I loved that The Black was male. I loved her sense of humor.

Edward was a little harder for me, as he fell headlong into love without hesitation. Who does that? But he was sweet and hot and also made mistakes and won me over in the end.

I found Ella's appearance in chapter 15 (!) a little jarring, but I got over it :)

Standalone. 3rd person dual pov. No violence. Steamy.

End or Beginning?

Loved this book. The characters were brave and bold. I enjoyed how Edward was written. He wouldn't let Reeve get too inside her head. He made her face her fears. We could all use someone like that in our life.
