An intense story that will keep your on the edge of your seat as Lily and Carter’s journey to see a newly discovered Mayan temple get more perilous. The storyline has several unexpected surprises.

Lily is a fearless young woman who relies upon the survival skills her father and brothers taught her as she grew up in Montana. Everyone of those skills plus tenacity and determination are needed to survive the Mexican jungle.

The story is mostly an thrilling adventure with some subtle nuances to attraction between Lily and Carter, and their budding relationship is a slow burn.

Kendall’s writing style is intense and descriptive making readers feel the adrenaline rush and danger her characters are experiencing. Definitely an author who grabs your attention and gives you a thrilling experience.

I received a free ARC from the author and Hidden Gems; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Lily has come for answers about her farther and Carter is there to try and capture an award winning picture, what they get is one hell of an adventure where they learn more about each other, they have to work with each other and against the elements and threats within the jungle to try and survive as well as a nice slow burn romance that has you turning the page! This is the perfect mix of action, adventure and attraction, the only thing I didn't get was why there wasn't anyone else going to check out the temple after it's discovery? ..the good things is you get sucked into the story so much you don't think about others.

I loved this book.  Lily is an amazing character who has great strength and perseverance. Her attitude compliments Carter's character.  The description of the land, where Lily and Carter are on the hunt for the Mayan temple, is so well written creating images so vivid, that it makes me want to go and visit. I can picture the entire scenery,  taste what they're eating and smell everything that is described.  I can't wait to read my next book by Kendall Talbot
